The fast route - the N21 - to Limerick runs east inland via
Newcastle West from Tralee. On this road CASTLEISLAND offers shops, and
places to stop for a drink or a bite to eat. Nearby Crag Cave (March-May
& Sept-Nov daily 10am-6pm; June-Aug daily 10am-7pm; £3/3.81) is an
impressive limestone cave system extending a couple of miles underground.
If you're passing, the thirty-minute guided tour is enjoyable, with
plenty of weirdly sculpted stalactites and stalagmites to keep you
amused.
